July Chairman’s Letter

July 29, 2022

Have you registered for the NAFTZ 2022 Annual Conference in Miami?   Registration is still open, so if you haven’t yet signed up, do it now!

This year, the conference agenda has something for everyone:

  • A Fundamentals Track for anyone new to the FTZ program. You will learn FTZ basics including the application process, inventory tracking and recordkeeping, merchandise handling, and how to get your FTZ started
  • Operator/User Track for those looking to improve your FTZ operations. You will learn about changing regulations such as the Forced Labor UFLPA, walk through a day in the live as a zone administrator solving issues and avoiding problem, and how to leverage 3PL FTZ operations.
  • Grantee Track for those using the FTZ as an economic development tool. You will learn how to manage your operator agreements, how to find and activate FTZ prospects, and how to support you existing zone users.
  • Advanced Track for those eager to get into the weeds. You will learn about how to succeed in filing prior disclosures, navigating the interplay between FTZs and FTAs, and taking a deep dive into auditing your zone.
  • Petroleum Track for those involved in the hydrocarbon industry. You will learn details on reactivating a petroleum FTZ, the impact of crude oil pricing and reshoring on your zone, and how to incorporate renewable fuels and emerging technologies into your processes.

And, as always, there will be plenty of networking opportunities so you can swap stories and learn from your FTZ peers! Tell me what you are looking forward to at NAFTZ 2022 Annual Conference!  Send me a note at Melissa.Irmen@iscm.co and I look forward to seeing everyone in Miami!
