June Chairman’s Letter

June 30, 2022

“How did it get so late so soon? It’s night before it’s afternoon. December is here before it’s June. My goodness how the time has flewn. How did it get so late so soon?”  – Dr. Seuss

This is exactly how I felt when I looked up and realized that June is almost over.  Did you realize that the NAFTZ 2022 Annual Conference in Miami is only a little over two months away?!  The early bird rate is expiring in less than a month, so if you haven’t registered yet do it now!

Did you know:

  • Each additional registrant from the same company attending the in-person event receives a $50 discount, so you can bring your entire team
  • Attendees reserving in the NAFTZ room block also receive hotel perks such as access to daily mediation class and free kayak, paddle board, and beach chair rental (for use after conference hours, of course!)
  • NAFTZ members get a $475 discount on registration, and if you aren’t a member, you can still join and get that discount on the event

The conference agenda is packed with great topics including:

  • NAFTZ Legislative Efforts
  • Changes for Operator Agreements
  • Run the Zone: A Day in the Life…Solving Issues & Avoiding Problems
  • CBP Updates

And there will be plenty of networking opportunities to learn from your FTZ peers! I look forward to seeing everyone in Miami!

Please join me in welcoming these new members and new and renewing committee members:

New Members: Anthony Wilber, Pratt & Whitney, Operator/User Designated; Crystal Pecina, Pratt & Whitney, Operator/User Additional; Omar Garcia, The Gowan Company, Operator/User Designated; Sofia De Los Reyes, The Gowan Company, Operator/User Additional

New Committee/Working Group/Taskforce Members: Advocacy Committee: Jason Nichols, Five Below Inc., Operator/User. Grantee Committee: Justin Ryan, Jacksonville Port Authority, Grantee. Operator/User Committee: Jason Nichols, Five Below Inc., Operator/User

Regards,

Melissa Irmen
Chairman
